Investment of $1.75 million for the expansion of Bleu.eco’s facilities in Saint-Hyacinthe

Saint-Hyacinthe mattress manufacturer Bleu.eco has announced a major investment to expand its facilities, which recently moved to 5470 Martineau Street, near Highway 20.

The company has begun construction work on this 12,900 sq . ft. expansion. and which will bring the total surface area of its Maskoutain facilities to more than 16,500 sq . ft . This is an investment of $1.75 million, which also includes the addition of new equipment, a large portion of which will be carried out by the owner of the building, the company Barbet Immobilier.

The entire Bleu.eco team will therefore find itself in a highly functional, spacious and stimulating environment, perfectly adapted to support the pace of the significant growth it has been experiencing for almost three years. Moreover, the project will allow the creation of around ten new jobs.

"This expansion is part of our desire to ensure a dynamic presence in our community and to continue our development," said Mr. Richard Lapointe, President and CEO of Bleu.eco.

These new spaces will also benefit the non-profit Arbres.eco. This organization supported by Bleu.eco aims to increase tree cover by offering individuals and businesses the chance to sponsor the planting of trees, in order to offset their CO2 emissions.

Bleu.eco also plans to increase its online presence, which is great news for the development of eco-responsible commerce in Quebec. Indeed, bleu.eco is a pioneer in the online sale of sleep products designed locally and manufactured in an eco-responsible way.

Bleu.eco designs high-end, sustainable products in Quebec that are offered at reasonable prices. All the foams used are ecological and composed largely of natural components. The company uses organic cotton and its major suppliers are from Quebec and operate less than 60 km from its factory. Its products are vegan and carbon neutral and it plants three trees for each mattress sold in order to reduce its environmental footprint.

The work, which will continue until spring, is being carried out by Les Constructions Luc Loiselle. The design of the new showroom was entrusted to the young firm Catherine Catherine, winner of the Grand Prix du Design. A temporary showroom will remain accessible to the public throughout the construction period.
